Itinerary description

The Via Ferrata in Montejaque is one of the most demanding in the region. It is usually rated a K4, sometimes a K3. I would rate is a K4 because of the 2 quite demanding overhangs.

Time of approximation: 30 minutes - The starting point of the via ferrata is the parking lot at the Montejaque cemetery.
Time of return: 30 minutes
Difficulty: K4
Hight: 178 meters.
Route: 258 m
Overhangs: Yes (2 of higher difficulty)
Cable bridges: none
Zipline: 1 - optional.
Rapell: no
Escapes: Yes, one escape before and after the zip line

Attention: To get to the Vía Ferrata you have to cross private property. Please be respectful.

Attention: This via ferrata can only be used during the last six months of the year for nesting Bonelli's eagle and peregrine falcon by Order of the Delegation of Environment of the Junta de Andalucía, which restricts the use of the via ferrata of Montejaque from January 1 to June 30 each year.

We go up the track from the parking lot to a left turn where we see a gate on the right with the sign “No entry”. However, this is where we enter.

Zipline

It is a very long 1 cable zip line. The Petzl Tandem Speed pulley works really well here. You might even want to give it a little push to make it all the way to the end. If you don't, no worry, it is easy to pull yourself up.
