Itinerary description
The first stretch was almost flat and winded through a snow-covered road that took us deeper into the valley. Along the way, we passed traditional stone mountain houses (called bordes) and a charming chapel. The landscape looked straight from a postcard.
At the end of the road, there’s a parking lot, restrooms, and a boutique hotel with a beautiful restaurant and terrace. From here, the trail got steeper as it began its climb.
We climbed through forests, admired a frozen waterfall, and crossed various stone bridges before reaching a gorgeous alpine lake surrounded by rugged mountain peaks.
We stopped at the mountain hut next to the lake for a hot drink. The staff was super friendly, and the location was breathtaking.
To return, we followed the same trail.
