Itinerary description
With Trailblazer Hiking Club Malaysia group
To attempt Mount Yong Yap via Kuala Mu, one has to take the 4WD transfer service, because it is near impossible to get to the trailhead on your own, unless you yourself owns a 4WD, with proper off-roading specs. Although the dirt track is only 20% towards the end, the dirt road is a massive undertaking and requires a pro off-roader to navigate such a nightmare obstacle.
If y'all intend to attempt this particular hike, would highly suggest that y'all have your hat and glasses ready + long-sleeved t-shirt, because beside the whole stretch is exposed to the elements, y'all also has to deal with the ever-looming vegetations along the dirt road. One can easily get scratches, or worse, cuts, if one is not careful.
