Itinerary description
Wadi Lasal is a great hike for those seeking an easy walk in the mountains. The nearly flat terrain and minimal climbing make it accessible for the entire family and suitable for children.
Located about 90 km from Dubai, it is one of the closest hikes you can find from the city - it took me 1h to get there.
Wadi Lasal is a loop hike. It should take you 3 to 3h30 to complete, including stops. But it is three hours of beauty and enjoyment out in the sun and fresh air. It offers a chance to experience the beauty of the mountains without the physical challenge of more strenuous hikes. The scenery is stunning, making it a great option for taking Instagram-worthy photos.
You don’t need a SUV to do this hike. You will simply drive to the parking next to the Wadi Modaynah Dam at 25.034806, 56.021008.
The train is clear and involves flat wadi until you reach a plateau with wonderful views. On the way you will cross some camel farms, nice trees and goats grazing around.
Overall, Wadi Lasal is a great choice for those looking for a leisurely stroll through the mountains with a chance to take in the beautiful sights.

Really enjoyed the route. Parked at the dam and easy to follow (we went in the opposite direction - anti-clockwise - to the route indicated). About 30% of the trail is on wadi beds with the remainder on flatter paths. It took us about 2:20 mins but we were going quite quickly to finish before sunset.
