Spitakavor (Սպիտակավոր) is a 14th-century Armenian monastic complex, and Proshaberd (Պռոշաբերդ) is a 13th-century fortress built deep in the mountains of Vayots Dzor.
Our pilgrimage to Spitakavor and Proshaberd followed the classic hiking route.
A few things to know about the trail:
There are two routes to Spitakavor: one is a hiking trail, and the other is a road suitable for vehicles.
We usually hike there between late April and June, or after November, as the summer heat makes the trail less enjoyable and more challenging.
