Itinerary description
Up in the mist via Luke's Mountain and Slievenaglogh. Down in brilliant sunshine from the snow-covered peak of Commedagh via Shan Slieve and Slievenamaddy, with fantastic views over Newcastle and beyond.
Beyond Tollymore up to Slievenaglogh and coming down via Slievenamaddy to Donard Wood there are really no well-defined paths - you have to make your own. And the low-lying ground between Luke's Mountain and Slievenaglogh is often a bit boggy.
The route we took down from Slievenamaddy to Donard Wood was quite steep and rough. It would have been easier to have stayed further to the right, closer to the Glen River.
