Itinerary description
Waypoints

Hillview-CHIJ
Walking along the main Upper Bukit Timah Road, along the start of the Dairy Farm Park connector. We cross the main road just after CHIJ (Convent of the Holy Infant Jesus (CHIJ). The Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Infant Jesus was founded by Reverend Father Nicholas Barré in France in 1662. The order first arrived in Singapore in 1854 to set up schools for girls.

CHIJ-Chestnut Drive
Bukit Timah Convent school was founded in 1955, and is now known as CHIJ Our Lady Queen of Peace. We use the overhead bridge here and cross over.

Entering the RC
Google maps shows the correct entry site into the RC. It's obviously also a shared track with mountain bikers.

Bukit Timah to Gombak Drive
fields of ... lallang? not quite, looks like a member of the cane family, but fronds waving in the early morning...

LRT - Pang Sua Park Connector
Near the Bukit Panjang MRT / LRT intersection, and joining the Pang Sua Park Connector. The Pang Sua Park Connector is a scenic park connector with supposedly two butterfly gardens planted along this park connector. It was extremely busy despite the early morning timeline.

Pang Sua Park Connector
We cross the bridge to join the Rail Corridor proper, although you can potentially continue on the western bank and join at the next road junction.

Crossing KJE
Villa Verde park, with a lovely pedestrian / cycle bridge that curves over

Villa Verde to Sungai Kadut
Views of the Quintet Condominium and Chua Chu Kang HDB blocks, after scrambling across Stagmont Ring road...

Sungai Kadut Avenue to Woodlands
From here on, the route turns much greener and more untouched, as we move into the Woodlands industrial areas.

Sungai Kadut Avenue to Woodlands
Nearby drainage canal, and if you look closely, you can see a pack of dogs ranging in the canal itself!

NS tracks to Woodlands
..entering the most beautiful part of the rail corridor - quite an extended stretch of woods
