Itinerary description
Parking at Blue Ridge Parkway, descend Mine Bank Trail past beautiful waterfall views to St. Mary’s River Trail. Turn right and ascend trail, sometimes steeply, to meeting with Kennedy Ridge Trail at top of Big Levels. Take Kennedy Ridge Trail to point where previous hike ended on 12-31-13, then return to FR 162. Hike FR 162 to start of Mine Bank Trail, take Mine Bank Trail back to start of loop. 11.3 miles, total.
