Hello Garry,
Your trail recording is a great reference.
I am planning to follow this in early April.
Could you please advise on the below?
1. Is the start point at lower elevations sedan car friendly?
2. We plan to stay in Abha town and start the hike as your trail. Is it a good idea?
3. Is the trail visible clearly?
4. I read somewhere that there are many baboons in the area. Did you see them? Were they trouble?
5. If we choose to use a taxi to reach the start point, would it be possible from Abha ?
Thank you in advance.
Garry,
Your post shows elevation gain as 1500 , but the graph shows in the range of 850 meters, which one is correct ?
Thank you.
Yes you can drive with sedan to the start, steep, narrow but paved. We also stayed in Abha. The start is just over an hour with an incredible switchback road down into the valley. The trail is easy to follow. We were not troubled by the baboons. No comment re taxi. Not sure re 1500 vs 850. The trail goes up and down. Wikiloc automatically
Follows you. It is long, but not that difficult. However this depends on your experience and fitness.
Thank you Gary, Your response is well appreciated.
Will update you once done next month.
Good luck and enjoy. The trail is close to Rijal Alma, do not miss, beautiful. Also Habala is incredible.
