Itinerary description

This is a great hike from the Campground at Pinyon Pines to Pine View Drive. When we do this hike again we will definitely do it in reverse to reduce some of the elevation gain.

All the information we found pre hike indicated the gain would be about 1400 ft in fact the gain was almost 2200 ft, in reverse it would still be 1800 ft plus but at least the gain in more in the middle of the hike not a lot at the end. Wikiloc details from this upload also show much lower gain than Garmin Basecamp so beware.

The view of the valley and the desert landscape continue all throughout the hike. Lots of different cactus and very healthy when we did the hike. Ribbonwood, manzanita, pinyon pines everywhere. Just a great hike. Also a good bike trail, we encountered 3 bikers the day we did the hike. The waypoint Junction Plus I did a bit late so it's a bit up the hill, going the other way would take you into Palm Springs, a much longer hike.

Junction plus

I marked this waypoint a bit late, this waypoint is up the hill a 100+ ft. But if you miss this waypoint you might be on the wrong track.
