Itinerary description
This is a great hike just outside Zaragoza. You can take the tram and then the 43 bus to get to the start of the trail. Or just walk from the tram stop like we did.
The trail starts at the dirt car park. You will soon turn right and head up the into the hills.
There are lots of paths you can take. We chose to move along the edge of the hills. As it had the best view points.
You will come to the end of the hills where the castle is. Make your way down the small ravine.
You will see a big fence that stops you from entering this area.
But at the base of the castle it has been cut open and is very easy to step through. Right under the red sign. I believe it has been like this for a long time so don't worry about going through.
Hike up to the top of the castle with a small stop of the left on the way to see the small tunnel.
Great views from the top over the lakes. And a perfect spot for lunch!
We then headed back down and did a lap of the lakes area. Some nice viewing spots. Although some of the lakes you can't really get to and you don't need ti as they are more of a swamp.
We did a little detour out to the river as well.
You will arrive at the main area where there are picnic areas and a toilet.
Nice views from here looking through the trees back st rhe rock face.
From there just follow the main path back to the start. And then to the bus and tram.
