Itinerary description
Temple footbridge has been closed for quite some time, so we adapted the classical Marlow circular staying on the north side of the Thames.
Starting from Marlow, follow the Thames to the East. Before the Temple footbridge, head inside and enjoy a combination of tranquil roads, public footpaths and open fields. After a while you'll be able to come back to a path following the river, with great views.
Eventually we got to Hambleden. Next to the road you can follow a public footpath. It seemed closed due to some filming, but we still went ahead. We had lunch in the wonderful Stag & Huntsman in Hambleden, their garden is amazing to have a bite and drinks with good weather. They prepare scrumptious roasted chicken on Sundays.
After lunch we went up the Pheasant's hill and went into a nice farm with various fruit trees with apples, plums or cherries. Then the path goes inside the forest for a bit. Afterwards it continues through a series of public paths back to Marlow. Some paths are pretty narrow and full of plants (some with thorns), but they are not too long.
We finished back in Marlow at the ice-cream place Amorino. Their best flavour is Pistachio!
