Itinerary description

One of the most beautiful and diverse day hikes I've ever seen. I can't recommend it highly enough. It is a long, difficult hike but the variety of terrain and sheer amount of time with panoramic views is tough to beat.

Starting from the trailhead next to the hostel you will spend about an hour or so climbing up switchbacks to the iceline. On a calm morning the Hidden Lakes are worth the 600m (total) detour for the glassy reflections. Then a couple hours of stunning scenery up top of glaciers, moiraine, valley and peaks, then gradually descend through forest, past lakes, forest and waterfalls, ending at the big one, Takkakaw.
