Category: moderately heavy.
Route:
• Clearly visible path.
• Steady climb.
• Incomparable vistas - certainly in relation to the modest height.
At the foot of the Hoven climb is one of the world's northernmost golf courses: Lofoten Golf Links. The parking of the neighboring campsite is the starting point of the walk. A regularly walked path leads you after a few meters on a wooden staircase construction with which you can distinguish yourself from the sheep. Soon it goes up quite steeply. But it never becomes inhumanly heavy. Moreover, from the first meters there are beautiful views to pick up, which of course only become more vast and impressive as you gain in altitude.
The ascent is divided into two equal parts with a small plateau as resting point in the middle. The mountain is also very friendly for those who want to control him and regularly pays for breaths in the form of excellent rock points that - how could it be otherwise - excellent to photographic delights lend.
Above is a rock man washed out and a view of the highest peaks of the island Austvågøy in the east and the slightly more flattened peaks of the neighboring archipelago Vesterålen in the northeast. From the summit of the Hoven mountain (368 meters) you can see the contours of a boat barn from the Viking era on the beach of Hov.
Courts can only be climbed on one side (the west side is an almost perpendicular wall), so the way back goes along the same route.
