Itinerary description
Foia summit
The hike starts a bit steep down hill, mostly a path through the forest.
Mostly Eucalyptus, then a paved path until the road. There is not much traffic on the road and it is almost everywhere possible to walk along the road on the grass.
After a short time (670 meter) the hike turns left again to go up on a very bright concrete path.
Going up is less steep than going down if you walk this way.
The views are amazing and nature is less dry in summer up here than in the lower parts of the Algarve.
Also the temperature is 5 or 6 degrees lower.
If you want to start going up to end going down, park along the road near the restaurant. There are a few spots there.
