Itinerary description
Dsegh - Tumanyan ( Դսեղից Թումանյան ) route is one of the most amazing hiking trails in Lori province, Armenia.
It's all about Armenia, Lori's magic and fairy nature, colorful villages and dreamlike atmosphere, it's about pure Lori.
--- We started our hike from Dsegh village's center. Dsegh ( Դսեղ )is famous touristy destination in Armenia as it's the place where Hovhannes Tumanyan ( Հովհաննես Թումանյան )- The great Armenian poet was born.
Here there is also his house-museum, actually close to start point.
--- Norhern Armenia has its specific colorful villages, friendly natives, mild climate and unutterable nature.
--- First part of the trail you roam through forests, then a little bit road hike which leads to Karindj village.
--There is also a hike through the village (Qarinj village) ( Քարինջ )
--When you leave the village, you you'll walk parallel to mighty Dsegh gorge, then enter forest again and at the end of your hike you'll have a short stroll in Tumanyan city.
--- Best season for this trail is from April till the middle of November (it depends on season) when the paths are not snow blocked.
--- This trail is blazed, but having GPS is mandatory as a lot of marks are vanished.
