Itinerary description
As you can see from the stats this was not a trail we rushed. It’s a lovely relatively low level hike in great scenery
We started by taking the 505 bus from Ambleside to coniston. We were staying at the yha so walked back to here rather than into Ambleside centre. Once we arrived promptly went for a coffee and cake at the cafe opposite the bus stop. If you have a little more patience there is a super Coffee shop at tarn howes.
The trail is all on Good surfaces and easy to follow. As it was such a nice day we stopped plenty of times to take in the views while listening to birds singing.
If you feel like it on loughrigg where you can see a trail coming down from the top, turn right and that path will take you to a fantastic view down Windermere
