Itinerary description
A magnificent full day loop hike. The trail climbs various peaks of mount Bigelow, which provide altogether a panoramic view of the surrounding: wonderful Flagstaff lake, Crocker and Sugarloaf mountains, Startton brook, Baxter SP, numerous ponds and forests. The climb on the fire warden trail is very steep and strenuous at its final section, on rocky steps, but isn't technical. The descend along Horns pond trail is gradual and its scenery is fantastic is the autumn. In between the trail follows the lovely mountain ridge.
