From the village of Bac Ngoi where we had our homestay.
First stretch of road but very beautiful.
You turn right toward the mountain and begin to climb. This is the only slightly more difficult section, but it's easy if you're used to following trails.
When you reach the meadow, you have several options to reach the road. We did the same as the route we were following. But we had to jump two fences.
Once on the road, it's very easy. In April 2025, there was a section under construction. You pass through the village of Bản Quà. A little further on, you pass through Bản Cháy.
We stopped at the river to cool off and eat our sandwiches.
We continue along the road through the village of Cốc Lùng, where there are places to eat and shops to buy food or drinks.
Further on, as you approach the lake, there are many homestays where you can also eat or drink something with a view of the lake.
There are two possible piers where you could hire a boat and take a tour of the lake and river.
Already returning to the village of Bac Ngoi we decided to lose ourselves among the corn and rice fields and cool off in the river again.
The path we found that leads back up to the main road wasn't the best prepared. Perhaps there's another one further on.
We made several stops and went at a leisurely pace. You could have taken much less time.
