Itinerary description

It is a difficult trail for its length; I rank it 7/10.

The trail started from Ain Jrayn village in Jbeil (Byblos) district and went through the villages of Chouwen, Ibrii, Qorqrayya, Frat, and ended in Ain Jrayn.
Most of the trail was walking in forests and some dirt roads. we came across rivers, waterfalls, bridges, and some water holes that is breath taking
The trail starts downwards 1000+ ASL to 400 ASL to reach the Chouwane river; the beauty of the river is complemented by a watermill ruins. This part of the trail falls within the Jabal Mousa Reserve and it is well maintained.
The trail then moves upward on a moderate/difficult slope to reach the Chouwen village where we took a small break by the Ain El Jawzi spring and replenished our water supply. Moving on, the trail continues upward, initially via a set of stairs and then through a cow path, to the Ibrii Village - this section of the trail is not well-kept where we encountered thick bushes and got lost a few times.
From Ibrii village we moved to Qorqrayya; the trail was leveled with minimum downward slope. From Qorqrayya, the trail started downhill and turned to our right at a point to see the qorqrayya waterfall; a thrill to watch. The waterfall joins the Nahr Ibrahim river forming ponds of a variety colors of green. Then, continue descending until we reached the majestic Beautiful Dakhoon (chimney) mouth sinkhole. After the sinkhole, the trail started an upward slope until we reached the pavement; we trekked the pavement for about 1 km and back into an uphill dirt road to get back to our cars.
A beautiul MUST do trail but not for beginners or mid level hikers.

One of the most beautiful waterfalls (second to Kfarhelda and Ouyoun Samak) I came across in Lebanon. It is best visited late March, early April.

Water Spring by the Side of the Road

it is a small spring that serves the coldest water on this trail. We had to go opposite of the trail for a 100+ meters to resupply our water bottles. Someone put the top of a bottle as a spout; beautiful.

A difficult but great trail. I have gone off track around Jabal Moussa and joined back in Aabra. I did it in November which is not recommended due to the short daylight. Don't be fooled with the distance, the hike requires at least 8 hours. We had to skip the waterfall in Qerqraiya to exit the forest before sunset. Recommende but really difficult if you're not fit.
