The Taman Rimba circular route starts at the Forestry Station taking a left at the far end of the play ground. This is a circular route which runs along a gently sloping trail surrounded by jungle before ultimately ascending along the ridge line up quite a steep slope to Junction 13 (380 metres above sea level (masl)). Ropes are provided to assist with the climb due to the steepness of the trail. At Junction 13, the trail both continues north (left) towards the PBA Aqueducts and to Chin Farm at Batu Feringgi or turning right (south) the trail continues towards Junction 12. You will pass a rain gauge about half way to Junction 12. The trail then descends along a steep slope, again with ropes provided, back towards the forestry station (the trail start point). The hiker also has the option of following the trail in a southerly direction to Bukit Laksamana which is at 725 metres above sea level. At the junction at the top of Bukit Laksamana, the trail branches eastward towards Western Hill Road (and onwards to Penang Hill) or westward back towards the main road which leads back towards Teluk Bahang or going south towards Balik Pulau.
