This conservation area is available for hiking, biking and horseback riding. There is a red blazed trail which leads out of the parking area, up under the powerlines and connects with the yellow trail which is a loop. The total distance is about 3.4 miles. You will pass through pine forests, oak hammocks and open scrub. The day I did it I ventured off on to many of the roads in the area, actually doing over 7 miles. If you wish you can find some access points to the Econlockhatchee River. The wildlife is there, just walking around I spotted turkeys, a river otter, a fox squirrel, a very big diamondback rattler, many hawks and songbirds. I'm sure the place is loaded with other types of wildlife. I shared the trails with bikers, hikers and horses. Remember, take nothing but pictures and leave nothing but footprints.
