This is the same walk as oldboots, track id 190782. This walk started at the parking area just outside the park gates (so you don't need to pay the entrance fee) at the southern end of the walk. Even though it is the start of winter there are masses of plants in flower, and numerous birds in the trees (New Holland Honeyeater, Wattle Bird, etc.). From the firetrail there are panoramic views to both the east and west, in addition there are numerous rock formations along the path. The path is used by mountain bikers and walkers.
We walked this trail in the late afternoon and the sunset colours made for a excellent walk at the end of the day.
The is where the track leaves the road.
The parking bay just outside the park gates. There is also an information sign, although it is very faded.
From here there are views down to Coal and Candle Creek. Also some very interesting patterns in the rocks.
Views from this rock to the Ba'hai temple and also glimpses of a few of the tall buildinds in North Sydney.
