Its history dates back to the 20's of the last century, when it was decided to build a home for the first Georgian mountaineers who began the development of new routes to Kazbegi. In 1933, the wooden building was built at an altitude of 3653 meters and has been named in honor of Simon Japaridze, the Georgian climber.
