The launch is at the south end of Sea Grape Drive (0.6 miles long) off US 41, about 2.5 miles east of SR29. No fee, plenty of parking, no restrooms, some picnic tables. The launch is flat, shallow, and easy into a one-mile-long straight canal. The marsh entrance is about 0.4 miles from the launch on the southeast side. It's narrow and easily missed. Pay attention.
In the summer - bring bug spray... (DEET)... lots of bug spray... lots and lots and lots of bug spray.
Once you enter the cut to the marsh from the canal, it's a pretty straight shot traveling cross-country, and this time we took a couple of detours exploring the marshes to the north. The pictures and videos in the View more tab do a better job of showing it than just words.
Although I saw the biggest butterfly orchid I've ever seen on this trip, no flowers - it had gone to seed—lots of seeds.
Call this one moderate because paddling through the grass can, at times, be challenging.
