near Weavers Station, Florida (United States)
The launch point is from the south shoulder of US41 (be sure to pull well off the road) about a mile and a half after the bridge over the Port of the Islands canal. It's grassy and shallow. Watch your step. The trail goes south to south-southeast into the marsh and is clearly visible from the road. If you're good with a GPS or an aerial, you can wander around in here for hours because US41 is always to your north, the Green Wall is to your south, and the Faka Union River is to your west and, at worst, you'll have to double back a bit to get around obstacles.
The path we took was laid out from Google Earth aerials that show where channels, open marshes, and cuts are but don't show how shallow these areas can get, but the area isn't tidal, so if you got in...you could get out.
We rated this trail as moderate because of the navigation skill required. The paddling is easy (except in shallow areas). We did almost (but not quite?) this same trail a few weeks ago because we found an orange flag in one of the cuts that we must have left there.
