near Weavers Station, Florida (United States)

The launch point is a nondescript roadside shoulder about 3.7 miles past the Port of the Islands canal bridge on the south side of US41 headed east. Zoom in on the GPS track to get an idea of what the area looks like.

This is one of the prettiest paddles we've done for the sheer variety of ecosystems we paddled through and the long vistas available as you come out of cuts and tunnels. We saw how close we could get to Wrong Way Lake at the East Rived trail.

The area needs to be flooded to paddle over some of the marshes, so maybe from July to October, depending on rainfall. Stay tuned because we intend to explore this area more extensively. The wet season has started.

We rated the ride as moderate because the paddling is easy, but the navigating can be tricky. You can see on the track where we tried to follow the inbound track on the way out and kept losing it in certain areas.
