near Weavers Station, Florida (United States)

Part of the Fakahatchee - no hunting in the Fakahatchee, so we were pretty alone for most of the paddle. If you look at the track, you'll see that we were in and out of the channels, but we couldn't tell because everything was so flooded. Very few wading birds but lots of ducks. Mostly we just wandered around through the flooded grass. Hard to get lost, but we tried. Water is still very high.

We called this trail "public," but you have to get permission to use it. Check on-line.

We did see a couple of tour groups headed out on the way back. They have a new system at the gate - it's an electronic lock with an illuminated keypad. Duke saw a gator out on the trail.
