March held on Monday, July 30, 2012
After having made the march through the Makiki Valley and having eaten in the Chinatown of Honolulu, we took the car to travel a good part of the south and east coast of Oahu, and thus reach the Kualoa ranch. The large parking space that the racho and the generous store has to pass through is mandatory, before going to the stables. Many people in the store buying all kinds of objects and souvenirs of the island, who waited like us to do the tour, either on horseback or on quad. After a heavy downpour, so frequent and normal in these islands, we began the journey. More than ten people led by a friendly Brazilian cowboy named Ronal. The route runs the first kilometers parallel to the coast and the paths of a large ranch that besides having an important stable of horses also has heads of cattle. After a little more than two kilometers, we changed direction from north to west in order to enter an almost magical corner, for its beauty, in which, according to what we are told, movies like Jurassic Park and Gozilla have been shot. In this beautiful place and always guided by Ronal, we will do a circular route of just over three kilometers in which you can enjoy views and a landscape that only on islands like these, carved by the action of volcanoes can be contemplate. We also met a group that preferred to do the quad tour instead of riding. After enjoying this unique corner for an hour, we return the whole group along the same way and on the back of horses that have proven to be the most docile and easy to carry.
In total, just over two hours of a ride on horseback, which according to Ronal have blood of American horses and are called a half mile, and which only had to pull the reins, from time to time, to prevent them from eating by the way.
