If you are in the Coolum area and looking for an easy, short walk, try Yaroomba Park. Located 3km south of Coolum, just off the beach, its a trip through coastal paperbark swamp tucked in between the residential estates. We started the 3km walk along Neurum Rd, off David Low Way, which takes you to a play ground at the start of the park. From there the easy to follow, flat path, takes you on a circuit around the swamp where you can often see bush turkeys, plenty of bird life and goannas. To keep your feet dry, there are board walks in the low sections. We then exited the park at Boward Court and took a lane across to the beautiful open beach at Yaroomba. Its not a long walk but its a nice way to spend an hour or so with maybe a swim, in the ocean, at the end. For further information, visit our Facebook hiking site- "Take A Hike- SE Qld".
