This is quite a long walk that includes incredible far-reaching views on a clear day and is is a mixture of open chalkland and wooded areas, the main one being West Woods. There are a couple of stretches along lanes, the busiest is after exiting West Woods. There may be alternative routes that will avoid this but it wasn't a problem on this walk.
I don't know West Woods too well and so picked out a route through it just using the map - I'm sure there are better routes and so it might be worth researching or exploring the best options. Neverthless, this route was easily navigable and includes stretches of bluebells (mid-April).
If you are intending to do this walk during Bluebell Season, please ensure you have a look at Gopher Woods (prior to West Woods). In fact, there is a path that goes through the woods and so may be worth exploring. From the route I took, you can see a carpet of bluebells from just outside the woods which looked amazing.
