  • Photo of High Meadow
Wildflowers and waterfalls in the high meadow just before the trail ascends to West Fork Pass. The location of the pass is just out of sight in the upper left-hand corner of this image. From this point on, the trail climbs very steeply up to 12,600 feet of elevation.

  • Photo of Wetterhorn Peak
After topping out at West Fork Pass, you can descend a short way down the trail towards Wetterhorn Basin for incredible views of the basin and Wetterhorn Peak. I cut around the steep bowl to the West and made my way out onto a point overlooking the entire basin. This was a spectacular vantage point photography. Unfortunately, the light was less than spectacular this evening. But it was still worth the effort!
