Description of the journey (Update 06/12/2009)
See the personal website with all the details, hiking, GPS points, maps but also how to book and all the rules to observe:
Downloading the trace in * .grm or * .gpx format
Foreword: According to some sources (August 2008), the rangers are now distributing a leaflet indicating a few crossing points, with photos of the corresponding points of view (Xavier Ceccaldi's mail, August 2, 2008). A few cairns also exist: be careful, because this report is rather anarchic and may sometimes be misleading.
Leave Wire Pass following east to Buckskin Gulch Road. After 0.5 mile (10 min) the path leaves the direction of Buckskin G. from the right and climbs a sand slope. Register on the register arranged for this purpose in an iron box with GPS coordinates 37.02002N, 112.01588W. and put his license in evidence. The trail goes due south to a chain of rocks in the form of saddle, which is easily crossed (1 mile or 25 minutes). Here begins one of the most photogenic parts of the journey. Stay as far as possible on the right following the rocks under their ridge, find 2 cones of rocks in the form of tepees and go towards them. Note that - if we point the GPS coordinates of The Wave, the journey is even more obvious. After 70 minutes and 2 miles from the start we cross the border between Arizona and Utah. The GPS always invites to go south. Then we go down to a sandy dry bed, and we can see, from afar, a juniper, which indicates the final climb to The Wave. In the spring a puddle of water, in which are reflected beautiful rocks marks the arrival. The Wave is right after this entry, prominently.
Photographers will not forget to climb the rocks to the right and to the left of The Wave, where they will be able to take less well-known, but equally unforgettable shots.
The return is made by the same way, we will linger according to the beautiful lights encountered

Our experience: We woke up at dawn, and followed the path found on the Internet and vaguely described on BLM paper. As we knew the GPS coordinates of The Wave (see above), we could easily orient ourselves. To get to The Wave, the ride is fabulous: the sunrise is wonderful on the rocks. And then the journey invites to stroll. In our opinion - the best photographs of The Wave are obtained when the shadows have decreased!

So here's our suggestion - for photographers
To leave at dawn
Do not hesitate to linger on the way to go: beautiful photographs are to be taken in grazing light on the rocks where we walk: play of light in puddles, rocks of color ....
when arriving at The Wave, take your time. The rock can be more beautiful with fewer shadows, play with the wide-angle to garnish the foreground.
Climb above The Wave and explore, exploit the views from above, just as beautiful, right and left.
Attention: the first 5 photos are pictures of the Wave. The 6th is taken at White Pocket, which you can do too, southeast of the Wave but more than an hour of 4X4: for confirmed explorers, otherwise go to ask Page an outfitter.

The trail is really worth the time you will need to obtain a pass (4 days for my wife and myself) as there are only 10 passes a day by drawing, plus 10 on the internet.
The rangers provide you a map clear enough (from our experience, it's easier to get lost on the way back!)
