near Al Mazlūq, Musandam (Sultanate of Oman)
A perfectly laid trail leading to the man made stairs towards Hebs village. You start with about 1,000 stairs to reach the first house on mountain top. From here there's an option to return same way if anyone wants to come back to the car park. Return distance would be about 3.5 km but it is strenuous as there are only stair both ways.
From here, you can continue on the trail until you reach another junction with tail on left. If you decide to exit from here, the trail on left descends into the valley of Wadi Bih and reaches the Wadi Bih roundabout on Jais Road.
If you continue ahead (as we did), the dusty trail begins here with gradual ascend to the second house.
We continued beyond second house to reach village i.e. about 7kms one way. The recording had some issues so it shows less. We returned on same trail back to the base where we started. It took us about 5 1/2 hours to complete 14.5kms. The trail is a fully exposed therefore full sleeved dressing with hat, 4-5 L of water, electrolytes and food is highly recommended if anyone wishes to complete. Mobile network is mostly available throughout the trail but signal can be very weak at times or unavailable.
