The property of Casa Vacanze Podere Santa Pia is located in a strategic position, on a hill overlooking both the Val d'Orcia and the Valle d’Ombrone. There are many things to do in this fascinating oasis of nature and culture. Numerous towns and villages offer a treasure trove of history and art waiting to be discovered. Hiking in the beautiful UNESCO World Heritage site of the Val d'Orcia is a good choice, and we provide a good selection of interesting trails.

This is an excursion from Villa La Foce to the Lucciolabella Nature reserve, going up the famous cypress-lined avenue, famous all over the world for being photographed and immortalized on many calendars.
The first section drops from the Foce to a farmhouse, Podere Casanova. Do not continue south. From here to the rejoining with the provincial SP40, the track is free, approaching the fields. From the Lucciolabella farm, a beautiful path between evocative gullies, the so-called 'biancane', typical erosive features of the Crete Senesi landscape, but common in the Val d'Orcia as well. Return to the circular walk, we walk along the beautiful Castelluccio.

Dopolavoro, a former after-work place for agricultural and other land-workers of Villa La Foce, has been refurbished to a pleasant restaurant. Closed during low season.
The main element of the Nature Reserve is without a doubt the landscape characterized by the gullies and above all by the so-called biancane, typical erosive features of the Crete Senesi landscape, but common in the Val d'Orcia as well. Iris Origo's grandson, the cellist Antonio Lysy, was inspired to set up a festival in the medieval castle perched high up on a ridge overlooking La Foce. He was inspired by the acoustics of the courtyard of Castelluccio, which forms part of the La Foce estate where he used to practice, and transformed the informal family music-making at La Foce into something more ambitious, an international awarded music-festival.
Villa La Foce The stunning Villa La Foce, located on the hills overlooking a beautiful and miraculously intact valley in Southern Tuscany, with the iconic lane of cypress trees just in front of you. Departure and arrival at La Foce di Chianciano. Garden aficionados will love La Foce, but the garden is open to the public only on Wednesday (make an appointment!).
