Everest Trekking Base Camp - Day 10 - Dzonglha to Gokyo via Cho La pass - Nepal
This 10th day was one of the great days of this trekking.
The crossing of the Col la Cho and the crossing of the Ngozumba Glacier were exciting and a fun adventure. On this day the views were magnificent.
We left the Everest glacier and entered the Cho Oyu, the sixth highest mountain on Earth.
Leaving Dzong La, we will have a steep ascent to the base of the Cho La Col Glacier. From this point the trail is covered with snow and all the attention is needed in terms of safety, however the views of Colo Cho La are beautiful and the prayer flags celebrate in our company the arrival at the highest point of this trekking.
We start the descent down the other side of the lap, again all the attention is necessary because the trail is slippery and steep.
It is worth stopping to contemplate the views of the Gokyo valley that are lost in a succession of mountains, lakes and glacial valleys of enormous beauty.
The trail winds through glacial morays and large blocks of rocks to Dragnag, a small Sherpa settlement located next to the Gokyo or Ngozumba Glacier.
The march continues from Dragnag, through the glacier marsh, through icy lakes, sometimes inhabited by Siberian ducks, to the small village of Gokyo.
