Park at the Five Ways off the B1125
Head east on a gravel road for 130 metres.
Bear right off the gravel and head east, fence right.
After 75 metres, turn right, SE, and head into the woodland.
This path gradually bends left, east.
The route through the woods could be confusing.
If you use the "Wikiloc" app the shared route should be easier to follow.
Continue east for 3/4 miles. The path bends SE, then NE, then SE again.
At a much wider gravel road, turn left, east.
Join another gravel road and head left, NE.
Turn right, NE, avoiding a private drive to the last house.
The path drops down to the marshes.
At a T junction turn right, south to go via the beach.
Or turn left, north for more shelter if the the weather is bad.
On either route, head NW to Walberswick. Head to the river.
Turn left, NW, river right.
There is a £2 foot ferry to the Southwold side.
Head NW to the old railway bridge (closed for repairs Aug 2021).
At the bridge, turn left, SW, along the line of the disused railway.
Bear right, SW, off the tarmac and head across the common.
Head SW to the B1387. Turn right, west and follow the road for 80 metres.
Turn left, SW, and cross the field diagonally.
Head through a gate, then turn left, roughly south and cross the common land.
At Lodge Road, turn right, SE.
Follow this road all the way back to the Five Ways car park.
There is an alternative car park and picnic area half way along this road.
There is an optional diversion, left, into a meadow.
This path rejoins the road later.
