near Roussillon, Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur (France)

Pleasent 3hr ramble through farming country and the Sentier des ocres (pay) add 50min to walk time for this because couldn't do or don't include on map? It was closed for coronavirus. Avoid hot days and busy high summer.

Start from one of parking at north end of village. Saint Michel is a big pay parking just below village. Go up hill back to village

At edge of village is carpark on left and crossroads. Go straight following Rd to Gordes.

25m after end off village sign the Rd bends right. There are hiking signs on left at a little junction called ribas. Turn left off Rd here following sign to goult 7.8km

Rd turns to dirt track 20m later and forks. Go straight ahead along chemin de l'aurette

80m later turn left at sign for goult 6.3km down dirt track between villas

Rd goes uphill past a farm and vineyard. U can stop and buy a bottle for a picnic here

At d1609 (route de la pioche) go right (straight ahead). Vine yards stretch out ahead of you toward distant hilly ridges

Turn left off Rd here . It's signed Les Huguets. Following yellow and now also red-orange way markers uphill on bumpy tar road

120m after village just before sharp bend in Rd sign a small dirt road leads off north right signed Les Mas des Iris and Le Has. Follow this. Yellow way markers

Very quickly Rd hits a mixes template of light oak woodland and vine yards

Rd climbs uphill. This can be toughest part of walk on a hot day! But the oak trees provide some shade

After 5min road turns to farm track and levels out. Oak trees turn to pine and there's little shade

Me too of hill come to a gateway on right and house entry left go through gateway and at point where track bends around right (15m from fork) look for small turn off marked in faded yellow white on Boulder. Take this.
