A great walk through the national park Veluwezoom and the surrounding area. The walk starts at restaurant Paviljoen de Posbank with ample free parking nearby. Bring plenty of provisions because this is the only foodspot on the walk.

The hilly heather terrain of the Posbank is considered one of the most beautiful spots in The Netherlands. And rightly so, the views are breathtaking; especially in August when the heather blooms and the hills turn a magnificent purple. Watch out for sunny Sundays though, when it can get very crowded here.

The walk has a great variation of forest, heather, sand, and open field with quite a few nice viewpoints. The terrain is hilly throughout so there is a good bit of (usually gentle) up- and downhill. Away from the busy Posbank it gets really quiet and you may not encounter a single person for most of the walk. There is a good chance for spotting the abundant wildlife in the park. Wild boar, deer, and fox are common here. And even the wolf, which was extinct in The Netherlands, recently resettled in the area.
