near Montita, Valle d’Aosta (Italia)

This is a shorter, quite easy, hike.
You start by the road in the Ferret valley, by the yellow sign that indicates the refuge (trail 27 and 28). The trail is a forest road that winds uphill into the forest. About halfway up the trail leaves the wide track and slowly comes out of the forest. From this point the views of the Mont Blanc massif get really good. Soon you will be able to see the refuge. From the parking to the building it took me about 40 minutes.

After visiting the rifugio you go a little bit downhilll on the same trail you came on and then turn left onto the TMB trail (Tour du Mont Blanc). This trail leads you to the south-west about on the same level, along the side of the mountain. You will pass a little shepherds hut calles Sécheron, by the time you reach another hut you will take the trail 29 (which is indicated on the wall of the building) downhill. This trail is used by cattle and it was really muddy and slippery when I walked on it.

Once you're almost down by the street there is a marker indicating a trail without number that leads towards Lavachey. This way you avoid walking back to your car on the street.
