A long and difficult trail but ultimately rewarding with great views. Start out at Fairholmes car park before ascending to High Stones and Margery Hill. Continues through Howden Moors with the path becoming progressively worse. The middle section of the walk is particularly challenging as you'll have to negotiate through the many groughs which define this area of moorland. The final climb takes you out of the groughs and brings you into the incredible, almost overworldly Barrow Stones. From there it's almost all downhill back to the reservoir and start point.
