Brief circular route through the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT), in the state of California (United States), in the area near the Cajon Junction, from the intersection of the trail with the I-15 highway, in Cajon Pass, until the intersection with the Cleghorn Road, and return.

It is a brief reconnaissance raid, by a sector of the PCT located between the mountains of the San Bernardino National Forest and the Angeles National Forest.

The route has no technical difficulty and although the signaling is not perfect, it is clear enough not to lead to confusion.

The entire area was affected during this last summer by a major fire, and part of the trail had suffered rockfalls that were being repaired by a group of volunteers, just as we passed through the site. Upon returning, the trail was completely clean and in perfect condition.

However, what will take a long time to recover is the vegetation of the area (mainly scrubland and scrubland), since the drought is very strong and affects the whole area for several years.

The result of this aridity of the terrain, together with the effects of the fire, is an immense mountainous desert, with signs of an important erosion of the ground, that is crumbling the rock little by little, turning it into sand. The presence of trees of greater size is very scarce, and limited almost exclusively to the low areas of the torrenteras and basins of the seasonal streams.

The absence of trees, and the frequent hills of the route, allow you to enjoy an unobstructed view in all directions, with spectacular images of the surroundings, always dominated by the majestic presence of the high peaks of the San Gabriel Mountains, with Mt. San Antonio (10,064 feet, equivalent to 3,068 meters) occupying a prominent place.

    Enhorabuena, Pablo.
