On the way to the beautiful city of Hội An, we decided to make a stop to visit the famous Marble Mountains (Ngũ Hành Sơn), located on the outskirts of Đà Nẵng. We arrived at the last minute, in order to avoid the intense heat, and despite this, we enjoyed these beautiful elevations at the foot of the sea and full of culture and history.

START:

We start the route by accessing its main entrance, upon payment of the corresponding fee. There are two ways to access the upper part of Ngũ Hành Sơn, through an elevator (more expensive entrance) or by walking up a few stairs. Our option, on foot, since it was not going to be a brutal wear either.

DESCRIPTION:

We begin the route in ascent until the high part of Ngũ Hành Sơn (Mountains of Marble). A remarkable first effort that we overcome in a few minutes.

At the top, the first thing we will visit will be the vicinity of the elevator, the starting point for most tourists. There is a small temple called Tháp Xá Lợi and very visible from the bottom.

We continued the visit by accessing the Chùa Linh templong temple, where they were practicing rituals and other prayers. An audio entertained all these acts, listenable a few meters away ...

We follow the route accessing one of the largest caves of Ngũ Hành Sơn: Động Tàng Chơn. It is a cave full of passages, gaps and galleries. In all of them there are different statues of marble and other religious gadgets. It is very beautiful, and a young man takes care that you go knowing each hiding place!

The next stop will be a spectacular viewpoint: Vọng Hải Đài. Access by going up a few stairs (nothing demanding) and we really enjoyed the views. The viewpoint has a beautiful panoramic towards the coast!

We continue the route accessing the second cave, Động Vân Thông, much smaller, but more difficult. You can visit its first galleries and go back to the main road, or continue along the cave and go outside for its highest part. This exit is much more complex than the entrance and requires some skill not to slip. There are narrow stretches and in which we must help our hands to continue.

After leaving the cave Động Vân Thông at the top, we reach a beautiful viewpoint. The second highest point of the mountain and from where we get a perfect view of the Marble Mountains, Đà Nẵng and the coast. It is also visible the top of the mountain in which we are, can study the way forward to get there ... It is not obvious ...

We continue the visit to the beautiful mountain accessing one more cave: Linng Linh Nham. This cave is smaller than the previous ones, but it is also worth visiting. Lots of religious gadgets and some marble statue.

We have already passed one of the two sides of the mountain and we are in the other, ready to meet him. It seems that this rock never ends, there are always things to see!

We are in a kind of recreational area, Khu Dừng Chân, where we can buy things, rest, etc. Right here, we find the detour that goes to the highest point of Ngũ Hành Sơn.

The comfortable path we have followed so far, without complications or loss, changes radically. A lot of stairs, with high-rise steps, would indicate that we are facing the most demanding part of our visit to the Marble Mountains. And we are not wrong! We begin to climb!

After several minutes of climbing the great steps, we reach the highest point of Ngũ Hành Sơn, Đỉnh Thượng Thai, from where we get an exceptional panorama! Spectacular views, all the Marble Mountains at our feet and a beautiful image of Đà Nẵng and its coast. We really enjoyed this place. The effort has been worth it!

We descend on our steps with great care, because the steps are not very comfortable and have enough height, arriving again at Khu Dừng Chân. Here we will continue the route surrounding the area.

We follow the route visiting the Động Hoa Nghiêm cave, with the largest gallery. Several windows of light, marble statues and other decoration to face the largest cavity of the mountain.

Turn to another cave, called Động Huyền Không. Another place of worship more! It's amazing how many holes Ngũ Hành Sơn has!

After the caves, turn for the temples that we have left to visit. There are 3 of them and they are together: Chùa Tam Thai, Chùa Tam Tôn and Chùa Từ Tâm. They are very beautiful temples, well cared for and decorated with maximum detail.

After completing all the caves and temples of Ngũ Hành Sơn, we access the last point of interest, a beautiful viewpoint: Vọng Giang Đài. The views are again beautiful, so we still enjoy the height we are at! Several photos and we continue!

We have already completed the visit of Ngũ Hành Sơn and it would only be possible to descend to the lower part, a path that we made along a grand staircase.

In a few minutes we are in the lower part of Ngũ Hành Sơn (Mármol Mountains), terminating the route.

CONCLUSION:

Mandatory stop if you are passing through Đà Nẵng or Hội An. Ngũ Hành Sơn (Marble Mountains) are beautiful mountains, full of history, temples, caves and viewpoints. A scandal and a very entertaining tour! Highly recommended!
