Interesting circular tour within Olympic National Park, in the state of Washington, in the northwestern United States. It is an immense national park (like almost all of this country) and comprises a very varied landscape, from mountains with glaciers to infinite beaches, all decorated with coniferous forests that cannot be larger or shadier, in short, a paradise for lovers of nature in its purest form.
We spent the night at the campsite next to the Sol Duc hot springs complex. I no longer remember if we started walking from the same campsite (most likely) or from a nearby parking lot. After crossing the complex we begin to climb the Mink Lake Trail, entering deep lush coniferous forest, until we reach the small lake that gives the path its name. We continue climbing until we reach a crossroads where we turn left onto the watershed, and then begin to lose altitude and approach the beautiful Deer Lake. We continue down Canyon Creek until we reach the beautiful Sol Duc Waterfalls. From these we return along the camping path, which avoids going on the road.
It is a route without great difficulties for a very beautiful landscape if you like thick forests and solitary lakes.
Route made in August 2011 but made manually in April 2020.
