near Lilydale, Victoria (Australia)
Another of my Station to Station walks. Get the train to Lilydale and take the Warburton Rail Trail to Mt Evelyn. I usually take the opportunity for a coffee or breaky at the Billy Goat Cafe. Continue on the Aquduct trail now until you get to the highway. A short bit of road walking is required to get to edinburgh road. Find the pipeline track gate and head up the hill. It's pleasant quiet walking along the reserve. You have to jump a few gates but keep going you have right of way. One of the sections has horses grazing. They are friendly enough. Close to Cambridge road there is a higher black cyclone fence impeding easy progress. Not sure how adjoining property owners were allowed to erect this but if you are of good dexterity you can easily climb this. You have right of way. The last section is through the Pembroke retarding basin and then following the Brushy creek trail into the Mooroolbark shops. By now you have earned a sausage roll and vanilla slice at the golden pastry bread shop.
