This is a gorgeous hike from Ke'e Beach to Hanakapi'ai Falls, although I would recommend it only to those who will enjoy having a bath in the falls at the end of the trail.

You will follow the beginning of the famous Kalalau Trail until you reach Hanakapi'ai Beach. This spectacular trail was built in the late 1800s to connect Hawaiians living in the remote valleys.
Then you will need to cross Hanakapi'ai stream. If the water is high or fast moving, you should not try to cross, it is dangerous.
After you cross the stream you will have to walk along the Valley and cross the river several times until you get to the beautiful Hanakapi'ai Falls (300 feet high).

I have rated this trail as difficult because you have to cross several streams and it is often very muddy. Although it is possible to cross the streams jumping from rock to rock, there are many people who just cross walking in the water. Just a matter of taste.

It is very important to bring enough food and water, since the water from streams and falls may contain leptospirosis.

Duration: almost 8 hours (including lunch and bath)

This is a lovely walk from Ke'e Beach to the Hanakapi'ai waterfall, although I would recommend doing it only to those who intend to bathe in the waterfall at the end of the trail.

Follow a part of the famous Kalalau Trail until you reach Hanakapi'ai Beach. This spectacular trail was built in the late eighteenth century to communicate the Hawaiians who lived in the most remote valleys.
Then Hanakapi'ai stream must be crossed. If the water level is high or too high, the river can not be crossed, as it is dangerous.
Once crossed, the river walks along the valley to the inside and you have to cross it again several times until you reach the beautiful Hanakapi'ai waterfall (90 meters high).

I have valued this path as difficult because it is necessary to cross several streams and it is often very muddy. Although it is possible to cross the jetties jumping from stone to stone, there are many people that are limited to crossing them walking in the water. Question of tastes

It is very important to bring enough food and water, since water from the streams and the waterfall can carry leptospirosis.

Duration: almost 8 hours (including lunch and a bath)
