This hike will take you around some of the trails found in this EEL controlled 354 acre sanctuary. It is mainly an open scrub with a large lake within its boundaries. I would image that the area is quite challenging to hike on a sunny, hot day. It was overcast the day I went, but still warm. I didn't see any wildlife during my hike, they say some are there, but all I saw was some hog activity. The lake is pretty, but it seemed dead - no wading birds, migratory birds, gators, turtles etc. The entrance can be a little hard to spot as they seemed to have moved it, but not the information station. Go to the end of the dirt road, the entrance can be found there. There are some blazed trails, but some seem to just end. I would recommend a GPS as sometimes it all looks the same (you can not really get lost because there is fencing on all sides). You can get some more information about it by searching the web. My website has some information also - www.tomchoma.com - happy trails, Tom
