Along with that of Lake Grinnel, Lake Iceberg is one of the most popular - and therefore most popular - hiking routes in the area of Many Glaciers, in the Glacier National Park. Better to leave before 8 in the morning to enjoy nature in its purest state ... and a parking space.

The trail starts in the Swiftcurrent Motor Inn's parking lot and runs through dense pine forests, and open valley with beautiful views of Many Glaciers. Its ascending slope is constant but very smooth, which makes the climb very pleasant. The trail ends at Lake Iceberg, where at the end of June we could still see the floating ice blocks that give it its name.

On the route we find moose, deer and a grizzly bear a few steps away from the trail. As long as you go hiking in these parks, it is advisable to keep the proper precautions, and always bring the spray scares bears.

Very nice and recommended trail.
