Nepal, roof of the world, is a mythical destination for trekking: Everest, Annapurna, Dhaulagiri are evocative of travel and scenery for all lovers of hiking in the mountains.
The less popular Langtang Valley is worth a visit and offers a fantastic Himalayan panorama.
Despite the devastating earthquake of 2015 that ravaged the villages of Langtang and Helambu, locals quickly rebuilt lodges to accommodate trekkers. Every evening you will find at least one lodge offering bed and breakfast. No doubt, you will come back delighted by this country where the kindness and sweetness of Nepalese is the measure of their mountains.
This magnificent 20-day trek, organized by Pierre Perisse (http://www.gps-tour.fr/Trek-Nepal-La-vallee-du-Langtang), plunges us into the heart of the Langtang valley and its inhabitants who populate the valley.
From Syabru Bensi, we cross the Trishuli Nadi River and quickly climb to Khanjim. The trail then continues in "balcony" to the villages of Sherpagaon and Rimche and goes up along the Langtang Khola River. It is by discovering these hamlets and Tamang villages that we will acclimatize smoothly. Then the valley widens, the forests of bamboo and giant rhododendrons gradually give way to the alpine meadows and it is following the stone walls engraved with mantras that we arrive at Kyanjin Gumba.
The second part, more alpine and more confidential (not detailed in this topo), allows us to go in adventure mode, under tent, to discover the high valley of Langtang and these beautiful Himalayan landscapes near the border with the Tibet. The first 2 days will be devoted to acclimatize us before climbing the Yala Peak (5512m). High peaks and glacial valleys surround us as far as Shishapangma (8013m).
