Haqeel Village Summit Hike. Ras al Khaimah.
My Facebook page dedicated to Hiking Trails is as below.
Please feel free to like it and follow for more information on UAE Hiking.
This Village is at Haqeel area of Ras al Khaimah and is about 9 Kms away from the nearest Asphalted road.
This area is just after Jebel Jais Exit on E611.
The Hike start point and Parking spot is here.
Even Sedans can reach the Spot, but higher clearance vehicles will be ideal for the last 1 Km.
There is a clear straight graded road that exists to reach the Trailhead from the Haqeel Valley Village nearby. If you try to use Google Maps to reach the Trail head, you may get difficult access road option, so I have recorded a separate offroad driving Trail from Haqeel Valley village to the Trailhead as below.
Please read the description on that offroad Trail so that you reach the starting point safely.
Even Sedan cars will be able to manage to reach the starting point using that road Trail.
This Trail is mainly part washed out offroad and part mountain surface with some loose rocks, steep slope, some fields.
The Offroad that was constructed for the Power lines Pilons project is now washed out in few places, so we hike up straight over steep slope and you gain elevation quickly.
Once you reach the Saddle on the top near the Pilons, then you have lots of options to hike on the mountains around.
We decided to turn right and explore the abandoned village and its vicinity and extended the Hike.
We also got to see ( From Far ) the Thunder Canyon (Popular Climbing area} from the Summit along with Shahha mountain Ridge, Yabana Mountain and Jebel Jais itself.
There are some nice Camping spots up there for cooler times.
But you will have to climb up for 2 Kms with your Camping Gear.
Towards the West, you have many possibilities to explore Shamal / Rams area mountains.
We made it a loop and then returned back.
Usually there is no one visiting in the top villages, so go well prepared with your Hydration, Safety, Hiking Shoes, Shade, Electrolytes and Nutrients.
Take care, Be Safe and Enjoy Hiking.
Please bring all your Trash / any other Trash you find on the way back with you.
Lets keep the mountains clean.
